Es necesario realizar actividad física en forma diaria para evitar el sobrepeaso y la obesidad

La obesidad y el sobrepeso son un grave problema de salud pública. En países como México, casi el 70% de la población sufre alguna de estas situaciones y, como consecuencia, en riesgo de desarrollar alguna de las complicaciones como la diabetes mellitus o enfermedades cardiovasculares. Así lo explica el Secretario de Salud, José Ángel Córdova Villalobos.
En una reciente actividad dedicad a estimular la actividad en la población, el funcionario resaltó la necesidad "de volver a hacer ejercicio, tener una cultura del deporte para evitar no sólo la obesidad, sino otras enfermedades como el cáncer".
UN PROGRAMA DE 5 PASOS
"El ejercicio", dijo, "se debe acompañar de la práctica del Programa 5 Pasos por tu Salud, que contiene medidas fáciles sin costo alguno".
* El primero de ellos es Muévete, que implica realizar por lo menos media hora diaria de caminar, correr, andar en bicicleta, nadar.
* El segundo es Mídete, que se refiere tanto a medirse el peso, la cintura, pero también de poner un límite al alto consumo de calorías, alimentos y bebidas azucaradas.
* El tercero es Tomar Agua intensamente, aunque empezando poco a poco para que se vaya haciendo un hábito bueno.
* El cuarto se refiere a incorporar o aumentar el consumo de frutas y verduras.
* Finalmente, el quinto es compartirlo con la familia y las amistades, socializar el problema y la estrategia.

Light Therapy holds promise as a treatment for Alzheimer's Disease

A new article, conducted by Lili Zang and colleagues from Weifang Medical University School of Nursing in Shandong Province, China, discusses a meta-analysis of 15 high-quality trials that investigated the impact of light therapy on individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The meta-analysis included 598 patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease, and it covered 15 randomized controlled trials conducted in seven different countries. Those trials were published between 2005 and 2022. Sleep Improvement Light therapy led to significant improvements in several sleep measures. It notably enhanced sleep efficiency, increased interdaily stability, and reduced intradaily variability, all of which are indicators of better sleep quality.
