Meditar para combatir la migraña.

La meditación es una práctica de concentración y relajación utilizada para lograr un descanso profundo de mente y cuerpo, y favorecer de esa manera a la salud tanto física como mental. Un estudio realizado en 2014 revela que es un buen método contra la migraña.

El estudio, publicado en la revista científica Headache señala que practicar 45 minutos de meditación cinco días a la semana tiene un impacto positivo para reducir los casos de migraña.

La investigación buscaba evaluar la seguridad, la viabilidad y los efectos de la práctica en adultos que sufrían migrañas. Para la misma los voluntarios fueron asignados aleatoriamente a dos grupos, uno recibió una intervención con meditación, y el otro atención médica estándar.
Los participantes del primer grupo debieron presentarse a 8 clases semanales para aprender las técnicas de la meditación y fueron instruidos para practicar 45 minutos en sus casas al menos cinco veces a la semana. Fueron analizados antes y después del período de prueba generando un registro de la frecuencia, severidad y duración de sus episodios de migraña.  (ver más)

Exploring the Link Between Circadian Rhythms, Longevity, and Wearable Data: Insights and Future Directions

A recent study in NHANES 2011–2014 explores the potential connection between disruptions in circadian rhythms, measured using wearable devices, and their impact on health outcomes and longevity. The study analyzes data from 7,297 U.S. adults collected through wearable accelerometers as a novel digital biomarker for longevity. Five distinct clusters were identified based on activity profiles: "High activity," "Low activity," "Mild circadian rhythm (CR) disruption," "Severe CR disruption," and "Very low activity." The findings reveal that young adults with extreme circadian rhythm disturbance exhibit higher white blood cell counts and accelerated biological aging. Older adults with circadian disruption are associated with increased systemic inflammation indexes, advanced biological aging, and higher all-cause mortality risk.
